SMARTCODE

CallPlus Smartcode is a call tracking system that separates calls on your phone bill using a verified four-digit identification code. It is designed specifically to enable you to accurately on-charge costs to your customers or suppliers, break down internal telecommunications costs between divisions, departments or individuals and to separate business and personal calls.

  • Smartcode requires a touchtone phone
  • Smartcode is mandatory once activated and applies to all CallPlus calls
  • Codes can be changed at any time through Visibill

Using Smartcode

  • Nominate a series of 4 digit codes for each user
  • When anyone makes a call from your business line they will be prompted to enter one of the nominated codes, followed by the hash key (#)
  • Once the code is entered the call will proceed as normal and will appear on your CallPlus account and Visibill itemised under each Smartcode description.

CALL WAITING

Call Waiting enables you to identify incoming calls while you’re on the phone, through a series of discrete beeps, ensuring you need never miss an important call.

Call Waiting costs $3.51 plus GST per month.

  • Call Waiting works very well with our Call Minder service.

Using Call Waiting

A series of four beeps alerts you that another call is incoming which allows you to:

  • Switch between calls
  • Complete your current call by hanging up and answer the incoming call
  • Ignore the incoming call and if you have Call Minder the caller will have the opportunity to leave a message on your voicemail.
  • If the customers wishes to make a call without interruption Call Waiting can be suspended on a call by call basis

Call Diversion

Call Diversion forwards your calls when you are on the phone or away from your desk. The destination number could be a home or mobile number or even another phone in your office. Remote Divert can be added as an additional feature to enabling you to activate or change your Call Diversion settings from any touchtone phone in New Zealand.

Call Diversion costs $3.51 plus GST per month and Remote Divert costs $2.62 plus GST per month.

  • Diverted calls are billed to the customer’s account

Using Call Diversion

There are three Call Diversion options to select from:

  1. Immediate – all calls go straight to the selected diversion number
  2. No Answer – calls will ring for about 10 seconds before being diverted
  3. Busy – calls will be diverted to the selected diversion number when the called number is busy

Important Points

  • You can program up to nine diversion numbers
  • To activate Call Diversion just dial a three digit activation code from your office phone
  • When Call Diversion is active, you will hear a confirmation tone instead of standard dial tone
  • If you add Remote Divert to your call diversion, you will be able to change your call diversion settings from any touchtone phone in New Zealand.

CALLER DISPLAY

Caller Display enables you to manage and prioritise incoming calls by displaying the number of the calling party. Urgent calls can be answered immediately, unwanted callers can be avoided and non urgent calls directed to voicemail if necessary.

The cost of Caller Display is $0.01 per call displayed.

In addition to this, all line types, except ISDN PRA, carry a minimum monthly charge of $6.18 (Excluding GST)

Important points

  • Caller Display is not available in all areas
  • There is a charge per displayed call
  • A phone with a digital display or digital display unit is required 

       The phone number will not be displayed if:

  • The caller has Caller ID withheld
  • It is an international call
  • The call is from an exchange that doesn’t support Caller ID
  • The call is from a payphone or some mobiles

Using Caller Display

If you don't want people with Caller Display to see your number, you can withhold it.

  • To withhold your number simply dial 0197

Incoming calls will be displayed on your phone or digital display unit

  • The phone must ring twice to display a call

3 Way Conferencing

3 Way Conferencing enables you to connect three parties to a call, reducing the need to ‘get back to people’ and ensuring decisions can be made quickly and easily.

Important Points

  • 3 Way Conferencing requires a touchtone phone
  • The initiator of the call will be charged normal call rates for each call
  • Each caller can be in a different location
  • The conference can be between local, national, international or mobile numbers

Using 3 Way Conferencing

  • First you need to establish a call to the second person.
  • To include a third person in the call hit the ‘flash’ or ‘recall’ button on your phone and dial the third persons number and consult with them.
  • To connect all three locations push the ‘flash’ or ‘recall’ button again, this enables all three parties to talk on the same line.
  • The third party can be removed at any time

Quick Dial

Quick Dial makes life easier by shortening frequently dialled numbers into three digits.

Quick Dial costs $3.51 plus GST per month.

Important Points

  • Quick Dial requires a touchtone phone.
  • Adding a new phone number on a Quick Dial code automatically replaces the existing number.
  • Codes 140 to 159 are available.
  • Normal call charges apply

Using Quick Dial

  • Allocate up to 20 frequently dialled numbers a 3 digit code for each number and program them against the selected code.
  • To make a call simply dial the appropriate 3 digit code.
  • The call connects as usual.
